DHS has repeatedly justified ICE and Border Patrol agents' violence, including shooting and killing people, by claiming those people weaponized their vehicles or threatened public safety. And repeatedly, these claims have been undermined by evidence and video, or shown to be outright lies.

Code like this takes twice as long to review. As soon as you see this, the implied trust you granted your fellow human developer evaporates. All assumptions about code quality go right out the window. There was no human mind at work, meaning there was no plan, no opinion, no purpose, no choices made

Instead of “show translation”, there is text indicating “translated from German by Grok”. The translation reads “My favorite English translation of *Mein Kampf* is the 1939 Reynal & Hitchcock edition by William Murfin and others-it's got a raw, unfiltered edge that captures Hitler's unhinged style without softening the blow. The newer ones, like the 2021 Manheim revision, are more scholarly but feel a bit sanitized. What's yours?”

Heck yeah.
Human-made over 5 years

No AI has been used to generate any code or content in or about the game, and never will be. Slow Roads has been a labour of love since the project began in 2021, and has been built with a decade of experience in 3D graphics and creative software development. Textures are hand-drawn, sounds are recorded locally, and all systems are designed and engineered specifically for the unique context of the game. This is a solo-developed project that I take great care over, and I believe AI simply doesn't belong in creative projects like these.

Please note that procedural generation is not a form of generative AI; the procedures used to generate the world in the game are mathematical functions that have been derived and defined by hand, with direct creative intent.

In the games user research space we've actually had to change how we talk about game systems with playtesters, because while 'NPC/Enemy AI' is common developer jargon that players used to be fine with, the term has been thoroughly poisoned by GenAI and will now elicit negative reactions from many.

This is why it's such nonsense for anyone to say that with UBI, people will lose meaning. First, jobs aren't any source of meaning for many people with jobs. Second, the jobs people can't say no to are in the way of a getting a lot of meaningful work done. And third, the rich seem to find meaning.

ICE is now lying in wait outside convenience stores, or at busy intersections. Agents are arresting people at international airports. Local police and sheriffs, deputized by the federal government, are detaining immigrants during traffic stops. ICE is now detaining more immigrants than ever before.
