Candace Owens built an elaborate conspiracy theory about who killed Charlie Kirk. Her crackerjack sources? A kombucha brewer, a far-right lawyer, and a Kremlin-loving model — all cashing in. I spent way too much time tracking them all in a new series for MS NOW. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnNw...

A few hot takes on the letter, which I will refer to as Compact 2.0: 0) I appreciate the shift from outright extortion to (theoretically) open-ended questions. 1) Nevertheless, both the framing of the questions and wording of several rest on a thin evidence base and unexamined assumptions.

My reaction to this statement of next steps from @ncte.org on writing studies & rhetoric is, no thanks. I appreciate that they “might” keep most ongoing commitments but, beyond that, the field must sever ties with NCTE & build existing, independent spaces to replace CCCC. ncte.org/press-update...

I'm not reactivating my FB account to follow the news, but apparently some at NCTE might dissolve CCCC....in the middle of summer. I don't always agree w/CCCC, but it's undeniable we need a strong national organization devoted to college writing instruction. CCCC has been that since the late '40s.
