Mozilla has just announced a partnership with Mistral. One thing that Waterfox won't do is send your browsing history to an AI company. Not through oblivious methods or any other way.
Smart window privacy notice, showing an egregious passage, highlighted.

The discourse on here is so toxic, I just wanted to say that ANYONE can make a delicious roast chicken. I’m not even a good cook, but it’s quite simple. Rub it in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and cook at 450 for 15 minutes then 350 for 20 minutes per pound. Enjoy your dinner!

The latest adventure in my embrace of open source software is Waterfox. It’s like Firefox but the leader hasn’t made 100 stupid decisions lately and isn’t getting paid to keep the product worse.

Just cancelled my HBO Max subscription. All the good movies from there are on Criterion or available from the library, neither of which are run by the nazis who cancelled Colbert and Taylor Tomlinson’s shows.

I don’t understand how Chrome can be the most popular browser when it makes so many websites into unusable ad-riddled dumpster fires. Rogerebert, chessgames, and hdclump for example.

In Michigan, we're having to skimp on staples at the grocery store like meat and peanut butter just so we can fill up our gas tank for $5 a gallon and pay our outrageous monopoly utility bills.

I’ve been looking for a faster, less buggy alternative to Apple Notes for a while. I would just use .txt files because Notepad on Windows and Mousepad on Debian are awesome, but couldn’t get them to work on iphone. Enter Joplin. Side rant: Free open source software is always better.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The title for the first two panels is "Young Me".
In panel one we see a young version of Sarah, the protagonist. She says, "I want to achieve great things".
In panel two we zoom in a little on young Sarah's face. She continues, "An astounding career! An amazing house! World peace!"
The title for the last two panels is "Adult Me".
In panel three we see adult Sarah, looking down.
In panel four we zoom out and see she is in front of a basil plant. She simply says "I want to grow a basil plant".

Target used to be my favorite store. I just went today and every aisle was jammed with people restocking shelves during the busiest part of the week, and the app told us that 9V batteries were in the potato chip aisle.

I guess the questions this raises for me, whoever wrote this at CNN, are: 1. Are you really this goddamn stupid? 2. Do you lie awake at night wondering what happened to your dream of practicing journalism? 3. Seriously, what is for real genuinely wrong with you?

Every time we hear "The homeless people didn't use the resources we offered," the next questions should be "What specific resources did you offer? Were they actually meant to be helpful to people you claim to want to help? Did you offer actual shelter? Did it accommodate couples? Pets? Wet or dry?"

You know, maybe you could turn off some or most or, hell, all the notifications on your phone. Then you could live your life getting information when you decide and not when some other person or company decides. Then you’re a driver and not a passenger. Maybe that would help.

Theory: The folks who love features like automatic route planning and believe they are mandatory for EV adoption are much more likely to lease cars every three years and are thus not even thinking about why someone who wants to own a machine wants full control of that machine without a subscription

For decades, L.A. people always had a "yeah, but it's a dry heat," chambered as one of our defenses for living here. Now, the heat is wet, fire season is all year round, and the industry that brought many of us here is dead. But at least it's ranked in the top 10 most expensive cities in the world.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.
