On Formosa Ave in WeHo there are two attached dingbats (or possibly detached by only a sliver?). I can’t think of any other example like this in LA. They were likely built by the same developer (?). The buildings “dumbbell” in to allow a light well for the windows.
Two 1960s dingbat buildings without visible space in between them from the street.

It brings me great displeasure to report this parking lot will destroy most of the remaining Waterfront Red Car tracks/depot and a historic station from the original red car. End of an era.
Electrical conduits would also be provided for future vehicle charging units.

The 4,330-square-foot, two-story building at 264 E. 22nd St. and the 3,000-square-foot, single-story building at 270 E. 22nd St. would be demolished.

The project calls for removing some 5,080 feet of rail and constructing an 805-square-foot, single-store restroom building at the northern end of the parking lot. Also, a new 20-foot-wide, 845-foot-long pedestrian and bike path would be constructed along the western boundary of the site, connecting Harbor Boulevard to Miner Street. A bus or shuttle turnout and covered bench would be built at the southern boundary of the site along 22nd Street.modern day street view of former pacific electric stationwaterfront red car end of line station at 22nd st

*LA METRO* opposes SB 79 - the law that makes it possible for more people to use the transit Metro builds! They worry cities that don't like SB 79 will slow down their projects. Metro wants to exempt LA County from the law, or maybe even all of California except the Bay Area. Just totally unhinged.

Figueroa Arms at Fig and 41st is such an odd building. I had assumed it had to be from the 1910s to be so weird but it’s from 1927. I can’t think of anything remotely similar to this from the 1920s in LA (or anywhere else for that matter).
“Donut” rectangular plan shaped 4-story brick apartment building from Google earth. An interior courtyard with grass is visible, as are open walkways between units. An image from inside the courtyard showing the open walkways, like a proto-1950s courtyard building.

I got to tour *the* iconic Los Angeles house: Case Study House No. 22, the Stahl House (1959-1960), designed by Pierre Koenig.
Simple midcentury house on a high elevation with all glass walls and a large overhanging roof. The sun is setting and is reflected on the glass. In the background, there is the Los Angeles basin. In the foreground, a swimming pool.A corner of the same house that extends slightly over a ledge, seen at night. The roof extends far away from the glass walls of the house. In the corner of the room, there is a chair with a globe pendant above it. The city of Los Angeles is illuminated below.Inside the living room of the house looking out over Los Angeles at night. One of the glass walls is pulled back. There is a large globe light pendant in the center of the ceiling and a white couch to the left of the room. A view directly through the kitchen and dining room of the house as seen from the pool. The Hollywood Hills and Los Angeles can be seen on the other side of the house through the glass walls.
