we recently moved to a small town way up in northern CA and it is insane how expensive it is to live in the middle of nowhere. locals say the pandemic drove housing prices way up (people buying houses sight unseen then dropping out during escrow). ::cue sad trombone::

I learned how to shoot a small rifle at bible camp in Florida 😅 (learned I have excellent aim) My sister learned how to shoot a pistol during a Junior League outing (she didn't join). We thought this was totally normal but our parents were horrified, and as an adult I am now horrified by it 🫠

Earthsea series is the most accessible, and I adore The Beginning Place. Left Hand of Darkness is obviously amazing, but it's the most challenging of hers that I've read (I'm about 80% of the way through her oeuvre).
