I love #pico8 from @lexaloffle.bsky.social. I run it on a custom arcade cab, a wall-mounted console, my steam deck, and my PC. But the one thing that really annoys me is keeping them all running the latest version. The app can't grab updates, & since the binaries aren't public, I can't script it.

Agreed. This whole problem can be helped significantly if publishers were just explicit about what can and cannot happen to their review copies, and denying future copies to reviewers who ignore their rules. Just like movie screeners in the DVD era. Review copies shouldn't be owned by reviewers.
