There is a fire in the #Cairngorms today. Fire service was alerted at 11:50. We were at the RSPB centre at Loch Garten and saw the fire engines going past. My picture showing the smoke at 13:21 is looking south across the loch. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

There are four massive #bees stuck in my conservatory right now because they are too stupid to go out of the massive open windows or door they came in through. I catch and release those I can but they often stay too high up. Multiple bees are dying in here every single day. Stupid bees!

Story A) My great grandad on one side and my grandad on the other were both effectively destitute and sent to the workhouse, one from age 14. When my parents married, they had -£4 total wealth. Story B) My parents were teachers and I grew up in a Cheshire village in a nice 4 bed Victorian semi.

My grandma's garden had beautiful red poppies and my mum moved them to her garden. My mum died about three years ago and I am now growing poppies from the same plant. I put too many in one pot though so today I repotted some. Very delicate! Just one tiny root per seedling. #gardening

Today me and my 5yr old son walked along #Edinburgh Waters of Leith to Modern One art gallery, looked all around it, lovely. Played in the creative kid's space. Lunch at Modern Two. Walk back via a look around St Mary's Cathedral and the West End. Then home for gardening. Then TV. Nice peaceful day.

Eight million people will watch the Grand National today. No doubt at least one of the horses will die: 88 have died in the race‘s history. In the UK, a race horse is killed as a result of racing roughly every two days. It‘s a horrible, cruel, & exploitative sport.
