I forgot Yennefer, which is downright silly cause it's Witcher month ⚔️ I did a makeshift of her alternate outfit in The Wild Hunt. I wish I had full outfit pics!

Me as Yennefer from The Witcher 3, with black hair and a feathered shirt I put together. I used a filter for ze purple eyes

Time for some much-needed Control & Chinese food

Intro screen for the game Control on my PC. My mouse and keyboard are lit up in bright blue and my desk is messy with art stuff in what I'm referring to as a Ghibli-style mess in an honest yet somehow still questionable attempt to make myself feel better about it

The good news is, the kitties have their meds and are doing better already! ❤️ Bad news is that it cost 3x as much as I was prepared for. Trying to stay positive. So instead of going to the salon I might just cut my own hair tonight cause it's driving me nuts 😂

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Say you read one book a month. If you buy the book at your indie, it might cost a few more dollars than from a megaretailer. Now imagine if 9 more people in your community made that switch. What may feel like a small thing is often actually big, especially when we work together 💓

Sometimes while working I zone out and wonder things like, if the Earl of Sandwich didn't exist, what would sandwiches be called instead? Where did Splinter get his pizza money? Why did people stop putting gargoyles on things? And the list goes on
