It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting. Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination. She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth. Because he’s a goddamned coward.

We murdered four more people in a boat today
U.S. southern Command: On October 4, under the direction of #SOUTHCOM, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere executed a lethal, kinetic strike on a go-fast vessel operating along established narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean. Confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel's active involvement in narco-trafficking. The operation killed four narco-terrorists. @DeptofWar

NEW: Statement from Christa Pike's lawyers: ”Tonight the State of Tennessee once again failed to carry out a lawful execution. ... Christa is being treated at a nearby hospital. We have not been informed as to her condition.” www.lawdork.com/p/the-big-pr...
Statement from Christa Pike's attorneys Randy Spivey and Kelly Gleason from the TN
Office of the Post Conviction Defender, and Stephen Ferrell and Luke Ihnen from Federal Defender Services of Eastern Tennessee
Tonight the State of Tennessee once again failed to carry out a lawful execution. We take no pleasure in being right, but the concerns raised by Ms. Pike proved to be true: difficult vein access, blown veins, degraded pentobarbital, no emergency medical care available when things inevitably go wrong, all under a protocol that remains veiled in secrecy.
Christa is being treated at a nearby hospital. We have not been informed as to her condition.

The tortuous, botched execution of Christa Pike is truly horrifying. And while it feels unique in some ways, in reality it is also only the latest in a history of botched executions going back years — YEARS — in numerous states. Please know: this is the reality of the death penalty in this country.

Let this sink in. Cornell University refused to refund Jane Doe's tuition the semester she was raped. Without this money, she could not transfer to another school. Essentially, she was forced to stay on campus where she saw those seven rapists frequently. Eventually she dropped out of college.

I've been against them the whole time And Michigan didn't lose yesterday on a technicality, they lost because they didn't take the opportunities they had, because Iowa got some lucky bounces, and because they shot themselves in the foot at key moments

Misha Gray-Chemey @mdchemey.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
it's not "they won but only technically" because they didn't at all - it IS "if they had lost it would have been on a technicality and entirely unfair" so you're arguing in favor of technicalities here, not me

That the rules separately say Michigan "should have been" but weren't cheated of a legitimate win due to a procedural error by their conference which had gone undetected for over 2 years is immaterial to the fact that Michigan won both on the field and in the record books
000
Misha Gray-Chemey @mdchemey.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
It really isn't - facts remain that both of the following are true: the rules say the outcome can't be changed and Michigan won, and that there was indeed time on the clock anyway so the result of the play deserves to stand as legitimate

I will say that whatever rule it is that called the TE "established in bounds" after spending like 5 seconds just walking out of bounds then jumping in bounds at the last possible moment to catch the first deflection is a bad rule
