Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 21/09/2026Moving away from Mari clearly hurts both of them, the ending isn't subtle about that, but Lara needs time and space to grow on her own. Seeing Mari chase after Lara when Lara initially spent so much time chasing after love is a great inversion and speaks to Lara's growth. Would still love an OVA! 010
Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 21/09/2026This is basically why I land on this as not only the good ending, but Lara's best possible ending. She can live for herself and find her footing in the human world, both literally and figuratively. The execution may not be perfect but it's clearly a "see you later" vs her final words with Luca. 100

Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 16/09/2026"Everyone is here" year for real. A little sad but not surprised to hear this will be their last. I should talk about music here more often. Dunno how many people here would care to hear about what I'm spinning but I'd like to and maybe get a few recs from others along the way. 000

Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 08/09/2026The story doesn't work without him. There's no comphet to explore and critique that way. The feeling that he's out of place is very intentionally cultivated as part of that theme. 111
Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 06/09/2026Hybrid levers are especially good for that and games like KOF imo but yeah, K levers can be nice for anything movement heavy. Hybrid was a night and day difference for me vs my old J levers when I could still play stick, still the setup I think I'd play best on. 020
Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 29/08/2026I try to not ride TOs too hard about this but yeah, this happens way more than I'd like. Not everyone has that kind of time or wants to/can be around that late, and it's not great for pacing anyway. 020
Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 29/08/2026The magic definitely started wearing off come midnight though, I was *tired* in FFTF grand finals. Maybe I stop entering brackets I think will run that late altogether. Officially declaring myself too old for that shit. 120

Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 05/08/2026My favorite dumb thing about Ryougi counters is the catch and invul have startup. So if it triggers on a move that activates a new hitbox on the next frame, which some moves are programmed to do on contact during active frames rather than on a fixed timing, she just gets hit. 120

Mavi @mavi.butchsky.social · 17/07/2026Had to? Still do. Which feels *awesome* when that's the only reason someone can still play. Pads have had more significant influence in ways that I think you and I both dislike but people never raised half the fuss about them. For a lot of reasons, but like... make it make sense or pipe down. 000
