Zimmer's Backdraft theme. Manages to be iconic both in the movie and on Iron Chef. Also basically set the template for every great 90's film score. (Don't ask me what I think about every score Zimmer has made in the last 25 years. Also guy's a bellend irl)

I've seen this man beat up various heroes from movies including John Wick himself, and *aliens* in the Skyline movies they need to just throw every kind of enemy at Yayan Ruhian let him 1v1 a raptor in the next Jurassic sequel, I would believe it if he came out on top

Bad News: The recording of our ONE LAST SHOT episode will be delayed until tomorrow (for now) due to technical difficulties on Mike's end. No sweat. Good News: It's a throwback to the good old days of Adkins Undisputed, one with *the* Scott Adkins in attendance. More to come.

#288: THE STUNT DRIVER (2026) dir. Michael Dowse After reading mostly middling reviews out of TIFF, I didn't anticipate loving this as much as I did. Like RIVALS OF AMZIAH KING, it reached into some deep part of my psyche and drew out major feelings. See it, see it, see it

Once again I join @sogoodreviews.bsky.social to talk Tsui Hark because Kenny's brilliance always makes me sound smarter than I am. OUATIC 2 is a proper masterpiece from a director that has more than one. Everything that's great about the first movie is still present, but bigger and better

James Nunn and Scott Adkins save the best for last delivering an intense and epic conclusion to their ambitious trilogy. Tactical action, brutal grounded combat and hard hitting stunt work elevated by brilliant direction and Adkins performance. The gold standard of DTV action!

Mike Scott-World's #1 Fire Birds Fan @hibachijustice.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

They did it again! Unbelievable what Nunn and Adkins have accomplished across these three movies. Above and beyond the insane technical achievement, they've also crafted a story that stands far above most of its DTV contemporaries by refusing to engage in cheap jingoism

The worst part of this is that once in awhile there'll be a first person game I can actually play without yacking, and it lures me into a false sense of security. The second worst part is, that at least for me, there's no build up. It's just I'm fine, I'm fine, *yack*

Tight, solid little thriller. Nothing fancy but some really strong tension, especially in the first act with car stalking scenario. Honestly, I could’ve watched an entire film of just the road games.

The death of the music video industry really did shove a lot of directors into movies, when their real skills were in creating narrative-light barrages of amazing images. We need to go back! (I know they still make music videos, but it ain't what it was)

Instead of him being the death of cinema or whatever, have we considered that Zack Snyder is in fact just really really fucking dumb? Like not a millimeter of depth in that dude's brain. Hard to think he's what everybody says he is (on either side) when you read any interview with him and it's
