This is a photograph of the edge of one of Saturn's rings, looking down from above. Those spiky dark shapes are shadows. Shadows of giant towers of ice and dust grains clumped together that rise up to three *kilometres* above the 10-m thick rings.
A series of bands cross the image from left to right, brighter at the bottom and darkening towards the top. A band of empty space is at the top of the image. About a quarter down from the top is a complex pattern of jagged, spiky shadows cast onto the rings. The icy towers casting the shadows are seen here at a highly oblique angle.

We had 5 interviews last week and it wasn’t until I was driving home that I realized three brought drinks (2 big water bottles and yes one iced coffee). Commented at the time it was a fun new cultural shift but that’s it.

Symbols matter. White House isn't a palace. Kennedy Center is for the general public to enjoy. We don't have a triumphal arch in DC because that's imperial. We don't put the president's face on money because it's monarchical. It's about tearing down everything that says we're a democratic republic.

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).
A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

Tulsa is about to become the starting point for a new river cruise to Memphis—and the first sailings are already sold out.
The nine-day voyage will travel from the Port of Catoosa and down the Arkansas and Mississippi rivers, with stops in Muskogee, Fort Smith, Little Rock and other destinations along the way.
Tickets start at about $5,200 and include meals, drinks and excursions. American Cruise Lines says demand was so strong that the first cruises this fall sold out almost immediately.
