Every single one of 21 tested vehicles sent data to a third-party domain over Wi-Fi. Over half contacted domains specializing in advertising, tracking, or analytics. These companies gather details about your vehicle or driving behavior to sell to insurance companies or target you with ads.

Every city has the room to make their urban spaces better. You simply have to look under the cars.

No right on red? Pedestrian deaths have Nashville pursuing intersection safety measure
The idea is that right-on-red turns would be banned in much of downtown, school zones and at some high traffic intersections.

Today we painted Louisa’s Ghost Bike. It used to be Jessica Mink’s bike. Since 2015, I’ve created about 30 ghost bikes, but this one was the hardest to make so far. I couldn’t have done it without my best friend and brother Galen Mook. We Need Each Other. #NoMoreGhostBikes

A video like this is often framed as proof the Dutch are somehow superhuman. They’re not. The real miracle isn't the Dutch cyclist. It's the built environment that allows ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Build the infrastructure, and you'll find your city is full of capable cyclists too.

I went out in Berlin to show what is the problem. But as our brains are shaped by 100 years of industry and politics, we tend to fight between two wheelers, pedestrians and other people who don't drive. Which only helps to manifest the car centric (killing) system. Focus baby!

Part of pushing back against car culture, driverless or otherwise, is pushing back against the idea that everyone has a right to be dropped off directly in front of their destination.

Honestly one of the biggest problems with cars is that ultimately the product isn't a transportation tool but rather a psychological one, creating the illusion that you have control over your life even as you slot into a chaotic system that can easily kill you even if you do everything right.

I've studied so many concentration camps through history that held vulnerable people in just this kind of crowded squalor. You demonize people, you demand more arrests, this is what you get. It already has its own budget and its own momentum, and is on track to go much further, unless we stop it.

When I look at this, I see potential. Look at how many families, children, and daily commuters fit into the exact same curb space as one sedan. This is why we fight to build infrastructure that invites human-scale mobility.

Modern cargo bikes don't replace bicycles, they replace cars. If you haven't ridden since childhood, the capability will shock you. Groceries are the perfect gateway errand for daily mobility. The bikes are ready. We just need the infrastructure.
