I agree. West End is too wide & East Bank Blvd too at this width. Many have died on West End, or were maimed, while crossing. I was hit twice by turning cars, luckily just suffered scratches & torn clothes. It's as @kemcdonell.bsky.social calls it: a wide moat: dangerous, isolating merely by design.

This is because Vanderbilt is working on "the future of cities": we Mutuals of Vision Zero, Traffic, BPAC, Walk Bike, Transit... should meet with the new permanent resident, Richard Florida, on Vandy grounds, or invite him to, say, VZAC or BPAC or Traffic Parking or Council......

Does anyone know if the city has, before now, let a property on the National Historic Register that the city owns fall off the Register?

It has been 100 degrees for weeks. All the outdoor pools are closed. We are down to two splash pads, both of which are also closed. Tried to take the kids to the East Community Center indoor pool during the only 2 hours it's usually open on weekends. It is now apparently closed on Saturdays.

I just watched a Waymo speeding north into Hillsboro Village and to my puzzlement realized that there is no lowered speed limit sign as cars cross into a heavily pedestrianized area of Nashville. There's usually a backup there to slow things down except during early Vandy rush hour. RUSH hour.

Thought: Nashville Transit earmarks $$ for the Link program giving $$ to rideshare-app rando drivers & billionaire shareholders. Why can't $$ be shifted to expand on-demand Access Ride to seniors 65 & over? TOO MANY 90-YEAR-OLDS IN MY BUILDING DRIVE THEIR OWN CARS. Cities with on-demand transit:

Most notably, we learned that crash reports submitted by the public to MNPD's Minor Crash self-reporting system simply go into a vendor's database, isn't public facing, and is not used by MNPD or NDOT during analysis that consider crash figures. That data specifically must be requested.
