I'm in no way a good video editor and film maker (I have no experience). In this case I forgot to remove the image stabilisation on my 200-800 lens. I'll have to do better next time. Oh and... I don't have a microphone for my camera and since I rarely make videos, I'm not sure I'll buy another one.

I made the right choice to buy a really cheap (still standing and solid) house in the woods in 2020 just before the housing bubble. Sometimes tho I wish I bought a house deeper in the woods and further away from a big/main road. Just to many cars.

The main branch extends from bottom of the image, right of center, and extends up and out of the frame at the top left. There are many smaller branches and twigs coming off the branch. There are a few small patches of snow on the branch.

The Nuthatch is posed in the classic downward-facing pose Nuthatches are known for. It is just left of center, looking to the right. It has a white underside and black cap that extends to the top of its back. A white nape extends behind its head but does not completely circle the head. The wings are gray and so is the beak. A pale, rusty color can be seen on the bird's behind.

Behind the bird, the background is completely out of focus, showing patterns of dark and light.

I think the Black-billed Magpies have gotten sick of hearing me gush over how gorgeous the Common Grackles are. This Junior Magpie flew in and posed on this branch as if to say “check this iridescence out”🤣 #Birds 🪶

I absolutely adore Dartford Warblers, from the beautiful, muted colours to the scratchy song and this coupled with the emotion of the first time seeing one after a three-year search in The New Forest will always hold a special place in my memories and will never forget it & every year, I head back to The New Forest at the start of Spring to once again hopefully catch a glimpse.

The Dartford warbler is a tiny, active bird with a dark grey back and a deep wine-red chest. It has a long tail that it cocks upward, a thin bill, and a bright red ring around its eye. It lives low in prickly bushes and makes a scratchy, rattling song.

Size and Shape

Tiny body, about the size of a sparrow. Long, thin tail held up at an angle. Short, rounded wings. Thin, sharp beak.

Colours:

Dark grey or slate-brown on the head and back.
Deep cherry-red or wine-red on the front and chest.
Bright red ring of skin around the eye.
Soft feathers, but it lives among sharp, spiky gorse plants.

Sound and Movement

Makes a dry, rattling, or buzzing call and scratchy song.
Bobs and flits low between thick bushes.
Climbs to the top of a bush to sing.
