Plump bird with very long bill, brown & white crown stripes, and brown mottled back. There are buff stripes down the back, and multiple shades of brown barring on the sides. For today's #ODG (owl, duck, goose) #BirdOfTheDay theme, a skeptical Burrowing Owl, a duck(ling) drinking pond water, and a tiny Cackling Goose, the latter being about the size of an average adult Mallard duck or a bit smaller. #ECK
