Cloddiau (sing. clawdd) are one of my favourite features of the countryside in Cymru. An earth bank, dressed with stone on each side - a field boundary in which plants can grow. We walked alongside this one, near Bontnewydd today, that has some impressive oaks growing from its core.
An Oak tree, probably coppiced at some stage, growing from a clawdd, the earth bank dressed with rectangular stones, below which plants grow from the roadside verge.

Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.

I searched for Leeuwenhoek online, mainly as a way of figuring out how to spell his name. But it brought me down a rabbit hole. What an intriguing story, beginning with the fact that he was a draper by trade and how that led to the discovery of microscopic organisms... and possibly much more. 🧪

Multiple sources close to the Reform group have told me that there is a fear "we will be back here in 6 months" with another leadership race... Last week Reform MS James Evans said he had support of the "majority" of the group to be leader but didn't want the role. This is not a happy ship.

They'll be a lot of chatter about England's PISA results this morning, but we need to talk just as much about Wales. They rejected phonics and knowledge-rich curricula in favour of 'areas of learning', 'skills suites' and barely any testing. Wales is now 40 points below England in every domain.
