I often wonder to what extent we as kids were sheltered from the reality of death. In school, there were always some churn as people moved. So one did not exactly keep track of these things when you were small, even less so before you went to school.

This is a good example where it make sense to get the vaccine for its primary purpose, and at no additional cost or additional risk, it might have extra benefits. Seems a good deal. Now if only South Africa can get its act together and lower the price.
