Measles likely came from cows (via rinderpest) around the 6th century BCE. For 2,500 years, we didn’t evolve superhuman resistance—children just died. Real protection only came in the 1960s, with vaccines. Our superpower isn’t evolving into superhumans. It’s outthinking pathogens.

WOW WOW WOW LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL NEW HUBBLE IMAGE OF NGC 346!!! 🌌
A star cluster within a nebula. The background is filled with thin, pale blue clouds. Parts are thicker and pinker in colour. The cluster is made up of bright blue stars that illuminate the nebula around them. Large arcs of dense dust curve around, before and behind the clustered stars, pressed together by the stars’ radiation. Behind the clouds of the nebula can be seen large numbers of orange stars.

A Perspective on Vaccinology
For many centuries, vaccinology was empiric. Edward Jenner and John Fewster made the observation that those who were often exposed to cowpox were immune to smallpox, and to prove this, they inoculated a young boy with cowpox and demonstrated protection from subsequent smallpox infection.

The US military is the most vaccinated segment of the population. They achieved 97% COVID vaccine coverage in 2021 and receive special vaccines pre-employment in addition to standard adult vaccines. We should aspire to the same levels of vaccination coverage for children in US not less.

This is discussed in wikiguidelines. It is reasonable to not reset if the valve culture from the explant is negative, and it is reasonable to start over if the culture is positive. But there are no data really either way. See WikiGuidelines answer below.
