My modest proposal continues to be that if any artwork gets written off for tax purposes, that artwork immediately becomes public domain. The public bought it; we own it now.

The production team of Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines didn't spend over 2.5 million pounds in today's money building 20 replica vitage aeroplane, six of them airworthy, so you could tell us the so-called AI (which I've taken to call Asset Imitation) is "inevitale."

Musk's incitement and the weaponisation of his platform to further his ends and destabilise the UK and spread fear and violence are reason enough to switch off X. If it was owned by Russia the government would have done so already. X and Musk may not be a state but they ARE a hostile power.

there were already many reasons to do this but Elon Musk actively encouraging racist violence in Belfast should be the final straw for every UK government institution to stop doing business - including being on X - with him in any way, and for him to be barred from entry to the country.

I know there's an 80% chance she wont be the nominee and that she does have problems, but at the very least it would be so funny and thematically appropriate if the oldest elected president was immediately followed by the youngest 😆

The next Labour leader must move decisively away from the status quo to beat Reform. That means giving power and wealth to working class people. It means a democratic revolution, rent controls and public ownership of water. It means someone who isn't Wes Streeting.

The one pet peeve I need to give up, as someone who is neither a monarchist or a unionist, is getting irked when Americans say 'King of England' when they mean 'King of Britain'. It would be like saying 'President of Texas' technically true, but weirdly phrased.

Jewish communities are living in fear amid rising antisemitism, including these appalling arson attacks. We must confront this. At the same time, antisemitism is being weaponised to shut down criticism of the Israeli government. Both are true. Both deeply concerning. Both Antisemitic.

It’s weird watching it from the UK, Labour did the same, romped to victory then became one of the most unpopular govts in living memory. And that unpopularity is in part because they ostracised anyone who might actually fight for them.

Despite everything, I think it's cool that strangers who don't share identities outside of "human" will pop on the internet and wish each other well and relate to each other's struggles. We WANT to know what we share in common. It's a sincere desire which makes people cool and worth respect.

4. Promote peace and human rights

No more illegal wars. Introduce a Prevention of Military Intervention Act and put human rights at the heart of foreign policy. Review all UK arms sales and make us a force for international peace and justice.

Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy. This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis. 44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..
