Well I really don't like the character art style in the OoT remake. It has a weird uncanny valley plastic doll look to me.

Cartoon by Stephen Collins for The Guardian. Script as follows:

[scene is Winston Churchill in a bbc studio, giving his 'finest hour' speech]

1
CHURCHILL:
The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us.

2
CHURCHILL:
Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war.

CHURCHILL:
If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free
and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sun-

BBC PRESENTER:
Mr hitler, your response?

HITLER:
What we are proposing -

CHURCHILL:
Hang on

7
HITLER:
Let me finish - what we are proposing eez a simple power-sharing arrangement -

8
CHURCHILL:
What's he doing here

BBC PRESENTER:
It's important we hear both sides of the debate

9
CHURCHILL:
This isn't a debate
You don't debate fascists

10
HITLER:
Oh here we go with ze Godwins law!

HITLER:
Why must you people always compare ze things you don't like to 'fascists, Nazis, Hitler'...

RAUSS!

BBC PRESENTER:
*Please* Mr Churchill let him speak

I am so very tired of *gestures broadly*. Maybe trying to make commercial indie games in times like these is a fools errand unless you have an established audience. Especially when there are competitors willing to embrace the plagiarism machines to shortcut much of the effort. This timeline sucks.

Across the US, workers are souring on AI. The tech industry has insisted that AI would make workers’ lives easier and more productive, that the more people understood and used AI, the more they would like it. Something closer to the opposite has happened.

Why office workers are turning against AI
Whether or not you like AI at work ultimately boils down to a question of power.

Claude continues to be the siren's song tempting all programmers to jump into the sea. I think it's impossible to underestimate the temptation that many [especially older] programmers seems to have for wanting a solution that will make their lives "easier" and fill a hole in their heart.

Just watched the GTA trailer and my overriding thought is isn't it rather icky to be able to hurt and kill random innocents like shopkeepers in that level of fidelity? Older entries clearly weren't real life and had tongue firmly in cheek but this feels more serious tonally and that feels odd to me.

i understand if people are pressured to use LLMs for work. you gotta eat, it's hierarchical, usage may be monitored, i get it. but if you bring that shit home it's different! that actually is a personal endorsement. you don't have to use your own projects to normalize unethical corporate projects.

Well overall this is actually better than I thought it would be going from the vibes last week. However I'm not sure why there needs to be a carve out for using LLMs for 'menial things' when all of the example tasks listed are perfectly possible and arguably more reliable without using them. 🤷‍♂️

Perfect ("satirical") summary of the AI bubble. The whole thing is gold: www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/ai-...
"Benjamin owns a farm. He employs 100 workers plowing his fields. His total payroll is $10 million/year. One day, he buys a mule, which provides the worker who uses it with a modest 10 percent productivity gain. Benjamin fires 99 of his workers and purchases 99 mules, expecting a 1,000 percent productivity gain. The driverless mules cause plow damage to his property in excess of $50 million. Benjamin loses another $5 million due to the loss of productivity from his one remaining employee, who no longer guides a plow but instead spends 100 percent of his time shoveling mule shit."

The Godot LLM stuff feels like it's going to put a lot of users in very awkward situations with their principles and stated beliefs, myself included. Maybe I'm in a bubble but gamedev feels pretty tight knit and the overwhelming majority of competent creators seem to be against LLM usage.

MachineScreen @machinescreen.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
This is the galling thing. Your official policy can be ’discourage use’ but then it appears that’s just a do as I say not as I do situation. With how vociferous the reaction can be around indie games found to be using LLMs I’m surprised the Godot foundation isn’t considering the reputational damage.

MachineScreen @machinescreen.bsky.social · 20/06/2026
Obviously the Trenchbroom situation sucks but I'm confused as to why I seem to be noticing a more significant backlash against the one guy who maintains that compared to say Godot where there's an increasing number of PRs with AI disclosures (which, for clarity, also sucks).

The post about what's changed is here: machinescreen.itch.io/profit-motiv... and, as ever, you can play or download the game here: machinescreen.itch.io/profit-motive #gamedev
The camera looks up to a large greyish monster with bulging eyes and a triangular facial orifice. It's in a corridor clad with corrugated sheet metal.

7
The ouvre of Seann William Scott

[show the films of the now-disappeared early 2000s star, Seann William Scott]

8
And a catalogue of films which looks like proper films but not.

[Show a library of lots of knock-off films, like you get on Rakuten TV or PlutoTV]

9
So I’m never pressed on purpose!
Does BoBuu look like BoBuu cares?

10
I still get more finger action than them Ceefax freaks down there.

[Show the coloured buttons at the bottom of the remote]

11
[Show the couple again, trying to watch iPlayer, the woman just returning from a wee break as the man goes to unpause their show]

WOMAN:

Hi all you new followers, and everyone else! My latest little jam game release is Profit Motive which is sort of incremental pac-man but also first-person PSX-style horror... Play the game right now in browser (or download it) here: machinescreen.itch.io/profit-motive #gamedev #horrorgames
A large horrific creature runs towards you in a grimy, dimly lit sheet metal clad corridor. There is a metal door to the left, some large copper-coloured coins on the floor and a glow stick.
