I told someone that I spent about twenty hours on a piece while tabling this weekend and they seemed floored…to which I said that is probably one of my faster pieces (I’m very slow as an artist) and that so many of my peers spend much longer than this People really don’t know how long art takes

Artists have already been struggling because of AI. The loss of work has been very real and very tangible. And now we're heading into a recession with skyrocketing inflation If you have the means, please support your favorite artists. Join their Patreons. Buy prints from their shop. We need it

"Things might be tough but it's great for artists! They'll create more!" You might not believe me but going through a lifetime's worth of stress Every Single Week for years and years- is actually not the optimal set of circumstances that inspires artists to create

The end of the year is nigh. I like to evaluate. This year was really hard. Our industry was broken. I had some very hard challenges but I feel like I somehow made it through. Grateful to my coworkers and friends for the support. Be kind to yourself. celebrate your wins even if they are small.

Make art that you think is fuckin sick as hell. Make the shit you never thought you could that you always wanted to see. Beat your insecurity to death and fight to become your own favorite artist.

a gentle reminder that you don't need to wait to be good enough to write or draw the things you wanna draw you get better through creating the things you wanna make, not by waiting to become better to make things

Here is the deal: It’s hard to make basic improvements on our house when there is a room on fire. Any Designers hoping for craft specific changes throughout the entire Department, NEED to help put out this fire first.

Uplift the Design Dept. I support pay equity for Color Designers.

If you're any kind of creator working for a giant megacorp, if you can have backups of your work somewhere to be anonymously made public/leaked at a future time, do it. It isn't piracy, it's preservation.

twitter is so dead- it was the platform i used for my work, sharing it, advertisin my shop etc. so i'm now feebly trying to come up with other ways to consistently share stuff but the social media grind is very exhausting & not something i enjoy at all.. reels.. postin often... not good for my brain

Artists and creatives time and time over are talking about how what we do is both loved and looked down on. Our work is often desired deeply for so many things, our skills are often seen as very useful—but our same work is devalued to the point where tech is used to poorly replicate us
