These findings support a nuanced view of the psychosis spectrum, highlighting how different dimensions of genetic risk may contribute to its clinical and biological heterogeneity.

Using Genomic SEM we identified 4 components ranging from cognition-related psychosis to more affective components. We characterized the factors through enrichment analyses to better understand their biological similarities and differences, and looked at their genetic correlations with other traits.

🚨 New Preprint out! What if psychosis is not a single, homogeneous construct? "Parsing the functional heterogeneity of psychosis spectrum" addresses this question defining a genetic gradient across the spectrum. 🧬 www.medrxiv.org/content/10.6...

Parsing the Functional Heterogeneity of the Psychosis Spectrum: A Clinically Informed Application of Genomic Structural Equation Modeling
Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression vary in their age of onset, cognitive impacts, degree of impairment, and clinical course. However, since psychosis is a transdiagnostic feature th...

#BGA26 was a blast! Happy to have had the opportunity to present my work in Amsterdam and share one of my favorite research topics. Thanks to @lydiarader.bsky.social, @tabeasch.bsky.social, and @evangiangrande.bsky.social for such a great discussion and for their amazing talks!

Javier and Elliot (and the rest of us, all methodological credit them) did very smart methodological work to speed up GenomicSEM GWAS 800x... Basically they found and implemented a key closed form solution. Go do SEM over millions of SNPs, for tens of traits on a macbook, and it even wont heat up..

A desk I won't forget! This week I completed my internship at WashU: such an amazing period! Thanks to @ecjohnson.bsky.social to open her lab to me and all the people I worked, discussed and learned with (pumpkin included🎃).

The paper you linked is one of my all time faves. It really forced me to consider the fundamental constraints on the research I do for a living. Yes! And also, what *is* stochasticity? is it true randomness, or some emergent chaos-emerging-from-minute-differences-in-environment thing?

Cool! I do remember attending a session in ECP21 were this paper (doi.org/10.1038/ncom...) was discussed, cool stuff! Would you think that stocasticity might be the key factor here? And could it actually be a source of variability behind individual differences in humans?
