After all this time looking for it! #humor #math #foundontheinternet #nerdhumor
A beach by a lake in the mountains. Blue sky, trees, pretty water. In the foreground there are the remnants of a tree trunk on its side. Roots are exposed. There are two prominent branches at 90 degrees that have another 90 degree turn in each direction to meet back up in what appears to be a natural rectanglish shape.

The text says, “I finally found it… the square root”.

Teachers have it rough, especially in Texas under machine rule. But what if you and your whaleship changed the terms of employment? Now available, my first sale to Escape Pod: "The Graduates of Formost 891c." escapepod.org/2026/05/14/e...
I made a collage using two public domain images. One is "School Time" by Homer Winslow (1874). It is a painting of a red schoolhouse with an adult and four children on a brownish landscape. In the background is another illustration, "Telescopic View of Halley's Comet, 1835" (1861), sourced from Internet Archive. It shows a starry sky with a comet and its tail. This painting is turned 90 degrees so the comet is over the schoolhouse. It resembles a whale.

The text reads:
"They say that in Texas, the best jobs go to the best citizens.
The goal is national full employment.
And everyone, no matter their work history, has their place in this great plan."
