lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Hmmm, I want to discuss Zegapain STA, but barely anyone has seen it, so I'm shit out of luck. Good movie, but it's basically 70 minutes long after the opening recap and leaves a lot to audience interpretation. 000
lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The bar for anime compilation movies is on the floor, but Zegapain ADP is actually pretty good. It finds some pretty creative ways to reuse old footage, so I never really felt bored even though I had seen most of the old animation in the past two weeks. 000

lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Finished Zegapain, which was really good and also pretty creative. As I said yesterday, I miss the days when we had 26-episode anime originals. I still don't understand why they made a sequel to this 18-years later, but I guess I'll find out in the next few days. 001
lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Incredible that the Veep subplot where Jonah tries to ban algebra because it was invented by Muslims underestimated how dumb these people are. 090
lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 09/09/2026They need to bring back 26-episode anime originals. (This take is brought to you by my watching 2006's Zegapain and having a blast with it) 11712

lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I'm halfway through Zegapain, which is a lot better than I remembered it being when I watched it as a kid. The people saying this was a hidden gem were right. Great cast of characters and it's a pretty creative take on the Matrix. My only complaint is that the 3D mecha animation is clunky. 000

lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I'm four episodes into Zegapain and am having a blast. I would say that they don't make surreal mecha anime like this anymore, but they did make a Zegapain sequel movie in 2024. 000

lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The back half of the game has really soured me on Ys SEVEN as a whole. The game goes on for too long for the gameplay to hold up and the story has gone in the most boring direction imaginable. 100
lrrose @lrrose20.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I was planning on beating Ys SEVEN (the capitalization is important) tonight, but they made the final boss the most overtuned garbage imaginable, so now I have to spend a couple hours grinding out gear for all seven of my party members. 100
