Today is the LAST DAY to vote for the next leader of the federal NDP! This campaign has been a blur, a rush & frankly: the time of my life. Cast your vote before 7pm ET & let’s show what can be done when we lead with courage, conviction & real solutions that match the scale of the crises we face.

1/ Amid a cost of living crisis and the rise of the far-right, the path forward for the NDP has never been clearer.  We need a third party putting forward the real solutions people need that neither the Liberals nor Conservatives are offering.
A graphic of a quote from an article from Jeet Heer in The Nation, titled "Canada’s Left Is in Crisis. Can Avi Lewis Revive It?": "Given the dangers of right-wing populism, Lewis’s bid for leadership of the NDP is not just promising but essential. Only a revitalized Canadian left can offer a future away from the confused morass of Carney’s politics, which promise progressivism while delivering austerity."

i can't get mad at trump putting himself on a coin, sorry. i don't care that it violates the purser's act of 1877 or whatever. it's purely funny. it'd be like issuing a presidential cassette tape half a decade after the ipod rollout

Canada’s Liberal gov’t jumped onboard the Trump-Netanyahu war on a fabricated pretext. US officials now confirm Iran posed no threat to the US. It’s clear the inspiring Davos speech was never meant to be put into practice. New Democrats will always press for a principled Canada on the world stage.

1/ Today, the Carney government joined the Conservatives and the Bloc to defeat @jennykwan.bsky.social's No More Loopholes Bill — legislation that would have stopped Canadian weapons sent to the U.S. from being used to fuel the genocide in Gaza.

I don't wanna talk about Graham Platner. But lefties online who spend the least time organizing on the ground seem to be the most concerned about him. Those with platforms who are often doing real organizing, seem to see that a vote for our side is a vote for our side. It's aesthetics vs substance

My thoughts on the BAFTA incident... Lemme stop you right there. Sometimes a crazy thing happens. I don't think we need to discourse it. Sometimes we'd all do better to let out a "shit that's some wild stuff" and move on with our lives

Incredible that the DNC won’t release this autopsy because apparently they don’t like the findings. They’d rather keep losing than admit their support for genocide cost them.

We need to make our country safe. But we don’t build a safer country with more military spending that goes to enriching US arms companies. We build it with economic sovereignty, strong public healthcare, affordable housing, and a country where we take care of each other.

When Tommy Douglas fought for Medicare, they called it too radical. He proved them wrong. He knew it was what a supermajority of Canadians wanted, and the kind of Canada we deserved. That’s the NDP’s legacy – and it must be the party’s future again.

Right as I'm thinking everyone on the NDP debate is agreeing too much. @avilewis.ca adeptly point out the difference. He stands for a strong nationalisation campaign Taking our lives back from corporations and revitalizing what was once Canada's strength, it's robust public sector

Rey killing Leia who was saving Ben is an interesting exploration of the force and how violence can have unseen repercussions on those we love. Explored through a lightsaber duel, at that moment preventing Rey from falling to the dark side, & a parent's sacrifice How operatic and star wars is that?
