We need to make our country safe. But we don’t build a safer country with more military spending that goes to enriching US arms companies. We build it with economic sovereignty, strong public healthcare, affordable housing, and a country where we take care of each other.

@mark-carney.bsky.social says the infrastructure would be #Canada made. I like your platform but it lacks specifics on how to counter the real threat of military conflict coming from the Trump administration. #NDP #Cdnpoli #Cdnmedia bsky.app/profile/mark...

Our military needs new equipment to protect Canadians and our Allies. Our new Defence Industrial Strategy means we’re making it here, in Canada.

I rejoined the NDP in order to vote for Avi Lewis. But, truth to tell, I think the party he should be seeking to lead is the Greens. Perfect congruence of values.

I am very leery of the military industrial complex. But... At the very least we need to be able to defend our arctic, and to remain in NATO. That will require spending on, improving our defence capabilities.

So you want to keep relying on the USA for our security? Are you saying we should lower our defence spending?

I'm supporting. Campaigned for your Dad many years ago. Listened to you in debate and you sounded very much like him. I agree with going back to basics and we need a new but old direction that works
