I just watched some old clips of them, and another creepy aspect was they'd just float down from the sky or teleport into existence, and then stare in the window or beam through the wall into people's homes. Upsetting. It's nice to know a lot of other people seem to have felt the same way.

I'm not sure why now. Maybe the bulging eyes and general weirdness. I guess at age three(?) that's some form of Lovecraftian horror.

The "yip yip" aliens from Sesame Street. Kind of frilly jellyfish-like plush creatures, with weird loose hanging mouths and staring, bulging eyes. Two little antenna on top. They would float around and make noises.

Been teaching myself Unreal and built this moody office scene while learning the basics of lighting, VFX, camera control, animation, cinematics, and blueprints. Wanted to make it feel convincingly cluttered and lived-in, which involved placing 600+ props by hand. Sound up for maximum atmosphere.

Sometimes with intense discourse, I have trouble just letting it go. The desire to weigh in comes from what I think is a need to find moral alignment and shared reality with peers and community. But: Public social media isn't actual community. So it's just not a healthy place for that impulse.
