The regulations that give teeth to the National Historic Preservation Act are about to get wiped out. "Section 106" is what requires pipelines and roads to get checked for impact on archaeology. It's also the basis for federal consultation with Tribes on projects. And it's getting DOGEd this week.

Understanding Trump means grasping that he sees our government and our country the way private equity sees a company it takes over. You crack it open, extract all the value from it as fast as you can, line your pockets with it, and walk away. If it means nothing to you, destroying it is irrelevant.
