There's been some high profile criticism of test-negative method for vaccine effectiveness, as well as counter-criticism. Yet remarkably little in media saying what the method actually does, why it's useful, what the limitations are, and how we can improve it. Great that John Drake wrote this:

Jay Bhattacharya dismissed the test-negative design as 'crap.' The biostatistics literature tells a different story.

Small personal Shinto shrine. Japan
A small, private Shinto shrine nestled within a lush garden setting in Japan. The weathered wooden structure, featuring an intricately carved gable and traditional architectural details, serves as a serene resting place for a sleeping tabby-and-white cat. Flanking the steps of the shrine are two bronze vases holding fresh green branches, while small white ceramic offerings are placed neatly in the foreground. Large, vibrant green leaves of a yatsude plant surround the shrine, emphasizing the deep connection between sacred spaces and the natural world.
