I’ve been painting most days. It takes a while to get one’s hand back after a break from a medium, but I’m enjoying the effort. These are mostly done with A. Gallo watercolors from Italy. They have honey and rosemary oil in the binder, and are incredibly creamy and luxurious.

new favorite review of my play just dropped

a picture of the cast of my play Spoons (Kaan Kayasan, Yagmur Guclu) and a review:

Despite this heavy, traumatic base of the play, that subtle humor and situation comedy in the text was so high that it balanced that claustrophobic intensity of the drama very well. Instead of drowning in a heavy sociological inquiry, we caught a breathless rhythm with the actors, where we had a lot of fun in the hall.

I think so, yes. The biggest thing about protesting en mass like we are is that it reminds people that we aren’t 1939 Germany. There’s a large, organized social and political resistance to this regime, and the message is clear: We aren’t going to sleepwalk into a dictatorship.
