Ich durfte eine Laudatio auf Angela Merkel halten und hatte einen, wie ich finde, sehr vernünftigen Vorschlag dabei, um eine weitere Amtszeit von Friedrich Merz unwahrscheinlicher zu machen. Angela Merkel wurde am Freitag mit dem Elisabethpreis der Caritas geehrt. Danke, dass ich dabei sein durfte.

Passing final exams is kinda anticlimactic. You study for years, work with patients, plan therapies, write reflexions & tests, press everything into your little brain until it feels like it's gonna burst & then it's just over. Twice a year, Hawai'i experiences a strange moment where the sun appears to be exactly overhead & anything that is completely vertical casts no shadow. Let's learn about Lāhainā Noon, subsolar points & 'Kau ka lā i ka lolo', meaning "the sun rests on the brains."

From a Reddit forum, a photo of a can of coconut milk with a blue label, papyrus text and a flip-top, on a sidewalk. It seems to hover because there's no visible shadow. The pavement is sort of unevenly colored, with bright spots, and the grass along it is green and lush.

Das ist so ekelhaft. Täter sind meist langjährige Partner. Aber klar, das Opfer ist selbst Schuld und braucht keine Empathie. Und das Publikum lacht und klatscht. Bei so viel Empathielosigkeit verliere ich langsam den Glauben an das Gute im Menschen.

Stichwort Klassenbewusstsein: Wer die Rente mit 70 für zumutbar hält, sollte vielleicht erst einmal einen Arbeitstag in einem Beruf verbringen, in dem man seinen Körper verschleißt, oft für einen mickrigen Lohn. Arbeit als Selbstverwirklichung ist ein Privileg, das nicht jede*r hat.
