Can't say we weren't warned. Frank Herbert was writing about the civilizational threat these guys posed in the 1960s.
"Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."

"'Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a man's mind,'" Paul quoted.

The Washington Sun
Some of the other images date back to 2007 and show Gallant - a retired Army officer and former Black Hawk helicopter pilot -
wearing a leather harness and bartending in underwear in Fire Island.
Even before the pictures surfaced, Gallant faced an uphill battle for New York's 1st Congressional District, which includes parts of Long Island and is rated solid Republican by the Cook Political Report. As of June 30, LaLota has outraised Gallant by over $3 million, according to Federal Election Commission records.
The images have created commotion online, but it remains unclear what role they will play in the race, which remains tight. In January, Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-affiliated polling firm, found Gallant three points behind LaLota, with 20% of voters undecided.

This is yet another telling example of the Trump regime’s racism. There’s no pretense here of targeting criminals - the usual excuse for mass deportations. DHS is specifically encouraging Haitian “doctors, lawyers, scholars and engineers” to leave. Any decent society would value these people.

Awful. Just awful. A promising young man, a high school honors grad who joined JROTC and dreamed of becoming a doctor, killed himself because of the Trump admin’s obsession with hurting Haitians and the humiliating shame of an ICE ankle monitor. His blood is on their hands.
A picture of a young black man, dressed in a light blue suit with a smart black bow tie, smiling as he is handed a diploma from a school official, a white man in his 40s-50s who is also smiling. Underneath is the caption “Pierre Damas Bel receives his high school diploma. (Family Photo/Instagram)”Bel arrived in the United States in 2024 in order to reunite with his parents, who had fled Haiti three years before. The family was granted temporary protected status, purchased a home in Springfield and settled into life in the U.S. Bel dreamed of studying medicine and graduated high school last May with honors and as a proud member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), his father said. He was the eldest of three siblings and his family described him as smart and responsible.
