OK so, as a distraction from the non-floaty Float choreo, I'm wondering about where Permission and Long Way Home belong in the flow of the album's fucked up, rollercoaster, nightmare of a relationship arc I think I'd put LWH between Easy Loving You and Skin, but Permission is proving very slippery

My notes from my first Soft Violence listen. I always do this so I can look back after a few months and see how wrong I was 🤣

Float - very bright sound, english is better, quite spare arrangement and melody 8/10

Gooey - compulsory rap track, changes of pace and rhythm start out fun but end up being annoying, definitely sounds like Ateez in parts, but bitty 6/10

Let Me Be The One - 80s dance track - easy and groovy - singing almost like himself in English- kitchen disco tastic! 9/10

Sober - happy twirling crying song - bit too much reverb on the background but the vocals are lovely, little runs really suit his voice 8.5/10

1004 - mostly happy crying - english isn't great - nice dramatic building - epic chorus - 9.5/10

Easy Loving You - the horror movie end credits song - kind of a weird choice of genre but ok - doesn't really have any drama 7/10 it was fine

Skin - FUCK OFF - very NIN instrumentally - lyrics are great - vocals from soft to sharp - do not like the ending 9/10

Parasite - this album's Deja Vu - creepy vocal processing - close vocals, big instrumentals 8/10

Frankenstein - not convinced by the vocal recording - english is rubbish again - melodramatic ballad - good lyrics (apart from the comphet) 8/10

This Is The End - weird and scratchy, as noted 8.5/10
