I feel like there's a cohort of us who got on the internet before "social media" and made all sorts of healthy friendships through forums or livejournal or what have you and thus, while everyone's like SOCIAL MEDIA FUELS COMPARISON AND MISERY we're like, but that's just where my friends live.

It's my birthday!! 🥰 And I got this awesome card from my mother 😂

A pink cowboy holding two flowers like one would hold a gun in a duel, saying "Take that!" in all caps.

I guess, I need a new phone. My Motorola g42 still works perfectly after 3 years but doesn't get any more security updates (after only 2 years which I think is bullshit). Any recommendations for smartphones on the German market that I won't have to replace for at least 5/6/7 years? Thank you!

I'm noticing a new trend that I hate. Used to be that cinemas showed the bigger movies in English, that also meant "kid's" movies. Now, they don't anymore and they only show these kind of movies during the day. So, even if I wanted to watch Coyote vs Acme in German (No!), I couldn't do it at noon.

Right now I would say Lego Batman. It was just so adorable! And I enjoy Will Arnett voicing guys who are very convinced of themselves, but are actually kind of a mess 😊

Today are local elections and my new boss is going to be elected. I cannot vote myself because I live in another state. I sure hope the "candidate" from the party which shall not be named won't win. Cause then I'll have to look for a new job because, no. Just no.

I just watched Der Goldene Handschuh (The Golden Glove) and wow, I'm kind of speechless. It's a really good movie and it's absolutely no fun to watch. It's about a German serial killer and it takes in the 1970s in Hamburg and boy, the sets are AMAZING as are the actors. 1/2

Among other things I nominated Two Mules for Sister Sara for festivids. It's on youtube here: youtu.be/5jbg6h1mqxQ?... The aspect ratio might be a bit off. Shirley MacLaine and Clint Eastwood in a buddy partners kind of western. (Warning for attempted sexual assault at the beginning.)

did bluesky hear about Miss Teen Indiana’s Garfield costume

A young woman in a Garfield inspired outfit with a Garfield headdress

The young woman from the first photo is holding a lasagna that says “lasagna my love language”

missinteenusa Tonight, Indiana is going Garfield!
My state costume celebrates one of Indiana's most iconic creations-Garfield, created by fellow Hoosier Jim Davis.
Born in Marion and raised in Fairmount, Davis turned an orange cat with a big personality into a character recognized and loved around the world.
But this costume represents more than a famous Hoosier.
The hand-painted comic panels on my skirt share messages inspired by my initiative, Captivating Confidence:
"Our differences are what make us beautiful."
"If we don't have love, we have nothing."
"Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates."
To me, true confidence is found in embracing what makes each of us different and recognizing that our greatest beauty comes from within. I am so excited to bring a little Hoosier humor, creativity and confidence to the Miss Teen USA stage tonight!
This one-of-a-kind costume was inspired by my vision and brought to life by Indianapolis-based costume designer, Jess West. @jesswestcostumes
