Elfie: A Sand Plan is a super relaxing indie puzzler that has this great DS-game vibe while being absolutely adorable. It takes quite a while to ramp up but as somebody who usually bounces off of puzzle games, I appreciated that, and the tone is so comforting that it feels like a warm hug.

tried order of ecclesia and it's actually crazy how much more immediately considered its approach to attack anims is. you can land cancel but not jump cancel, so going in for a punish is easy, but mashing too hard will get your ass beat, which the first boss immediately establishes. Game Design!

I end undergrad talks with the annoying 'comics advice' of: you have to sleep, you have to eat, you have to move your body in whatever way works for you, you have to engage with the world outside of your desk and outside of comics entirely. sleep is the foundation!! you can't compromise on that!!

I want to once again remind people that Muchi Muchi Pork is fucking awesome.Go play it, can play it on MAME or Xenia if you cant afford the port. The Geller news is heartbreaking. Learning of these crimes always is. Rather than listen to a perpetrator, I recommend reading Nathalie Lawhead‘s important account of outing a rapist and games media‘s subsequent betrayal of her bravery. It must have been so heavy to write. Justice for survivors.

Got me thinking about how Treasure handles so many of their boss fights as checkpoints, but very god damn impressive/insane checkpoints to show off some technical knowhow or to be the cap off of that 'segment.' Bravoo Man being probably one of my favs of theirs to mark the midpoint AND look cool.
