I’ve recently started writing my ethics submission for my PhD Research. Of course, ethics is fundamental to all research, but can research be ethical in an institution like The University of Sheffield? An institution that colludes with the apparatuses of a genocidal war machine.

The level of intellectual illiteracy from the media is astounding. Yes, ADHD as a discrete psychiatric condition is ‘socially constructed’, because it’s describing social phenomena. Just because things are ‘socially constructed’ doesn’t mean they aren’t real??

I see Ann Widdecombe has died. When she was Home Secretary I showed her round Drake Hall womens’s prison. There was a pregnant woman on a bed in the early stages of Labour and she asked the prison officers why she wasn’t handcuffed to the bed. That’s the kind of woman she was.

My paper, at the BSA ‘New Materialisms conference’, sought to inquire into research-creation beyond neuronormative legibility. I really enjoyed the questions that it generated, and meeting other academics and researchers engaging in similar types of inquiry. Will be discussing more on substack.
