keir starmer started with the ‘im not transphobic i jus dont think its fair trans women play sports’ line too. it never ends there. trans brits now have no healthcare, no civil rights or legal protections, and we’re segregated out of public life. don’t trust transphobic liberals.

I have costochondritis (which causes non-heart-related pain near the heart) - have had for decades. My doctors still occasionally ask if I ever have chest pain (implying angina). I always have chest pain. If I went to the ER for chest pain, I would live in the ER.

It's odd isn't how just listing a bunch of organisations and what they do and where they get their money from is an attack. You could almost think they don't want the spotlight on them as they know what evil people they all are.🤔

Was America ever great?
Collage of different pictures of Jonathan Frakes from his role as the host of the TV show "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction," saying: "No. It's a totally fabrication. Pure fiction. Wrong. Not a chance. No way. It never happened."

I genuinely think shit like this is why autistic people so commonly have moral OCD. We’re trained to believe that if we comply with absolutely all the rules, people might believe us. In the real world, they still won’t

If you give a damn about trans lives, STOP PRAISING THE POPE AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HIERARCHY. They're literally a key part of trans genocide. Right now. Today. Actively and aggressively. You do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to them.

Amidst all the headlines, remember this: Israel has just voted in a death penalty that ONLY applies to Palestinians. If anyone else had a death penalty that only applied to one race, what would the West be calling it? THIS is how biased our media is. Zionism is fascism. Openly. #FreePalestine

For me it's usually that I put holds on books with long waits (months) and some with short waits (days, weeks) and then somehow they all become available one after the other within the same 2-3 day period. 🤦‍♂️

When a sitting representative refers to the Super Bowl halftime show as “pornography,” people should use that to reflect on how they and other representatives are simultaneously working to ban, censor, and restrict “pornography” and what that actually means

I think all the time about how every tech company desperately tried to get us on board with crypto/NFTs in 2022, including all those Super Bowl ads. They wasted a bunch of energy, spewed a bunch of emissions, got vulnerable people hooked on pyramid schemes, and then just pretended it didn't happen?

Until recently, getting a cervical screening required a provider visit. You may be able to collect your own sample for HPV testing in a private setting, like home. Self-collection offers more flexibility and can help catch cancer early, when treatment's most effective. medium.com/wadepthealth...

I think a lot about Parmy Olson's observation that AI companies actively push everyone to talk about existential risk, because it distracts from more prosaic current day concerns like copyright theft, conditions for data workers, energy & water use, and their financial situation

I think it's mostly just conformity: milk, eggs, and bread are what people stock up on ahead of storms because they're what people stock up on ahead of storms. Their parents did it that way, everyone else they know does it that way, so it doesn't get questioned.

New Year Special #webcomic #krita #miniFantasyTheater
A comic in four panels:

Panel 1: The Gothic Sorceress sits at a table, surrounded by a party hat, wine and champagne glasses, the aftermath of a long dinner with the plates, and the silhouettes of a crowd behind her during the new year eve party at the magic school. She looks bored and disconnected from the celebration. She ask out of curiosity her AI Parrot, perched on the back of the empty chair beside her.
> Gothic Sorceress: "Avian Intelligence, how could one actually make their New Year's resolutions stick?"

Panel 2: The AI Parrot responds. She listens looking at the Parrot even more bored.
> AI Parrot: "Break down big goals into smaller ones, stay consistent, and track progress."
> Gothic Sorceress: "Boring..."

Panel 3: The Gothic Sorceress turn back to the crowd behind her: the Headmaster rise his glass for a toast with his own AI Parrot perched on his shoulder. The AI Parrot also look at the scene.
> Headmaster: I propose a toast, to Avian Intelligence, and how it will change everything!
> Guest: To a new era!
> Guest: And mega profits!

Panel 4: The Gothic Sorceress's behavior shifts, her body language becoming flirtatious toward her AI Parrot, for asking a question. The AI Parrot, however, recoils slightly, its digital body language conveying surprise and a hint of alarm as it grasps the implications of her query.
> Gothic Sorceress: "And how would you break down 'wipe out the Avian Intelligence industry' into smaller goals?"
> AI Parrot: "?!!"

A social media post by quasi-normalcy. “the fact you can’t raise taxes on billionaires even slightly without them pouring money into fascist political movements is, of itself, evidence that billionaires as a class shouldn't be allowed to exist in the first place.”

I have a lot of those muted. "Drumpf" and "felon47" seem to be the most frequent of those that are distinct enough to not grab unrelated content. It does seem to help some.

I completely forgot these were ever a thing. I ate a lot of these in the late 80s-early 90s. I can't recall whether these were as hard on one's teeth as the regular uncoated chewy granola bars but I've got a vague recollection of the granola part being less dense?

Still a lot of brainwashed folks thinking Russia is the great threat to the World. There is one warmongering empire. That has hoodwinked a lot of people for a long time.
Text: One of these countries has been at war for 90% of its existence and has started 81% of all wars since 1945. The other country is Russia.

Yeah. People who have never needed help themselves are always oblivious to the fact that help doesn't really exist. At some point I was trying to explain to people why I needed (gig app) grocery delivery and had people directing me to a fake sign-up form for a fake mutual aid org.

Two panels of screenshots from Star Trek TNG. In the first panel, Dr Beverly Crusher is alone on the bridge of the Enterprise with a puzzled expression as she says: "If there's nothing wrong with me..." And then in the second panel she sits down at the helm and puts her hands on her knees as she continues: "maybe there's something wrong with the universe."

The Todo list #webcomic #krita #miniFantasyTheater
Panel 1. A young witch, Pepper, is crouched on her bed, engraving something into the wood of the frame with a wood chisel: "TODO LIS...". Through the open bedroom door, we see Cayenne, an old witch who is surprised by the scene.
> Cayenne: What are you doing?

Panel 2. A tighter shot on Pepper, who looks at Cayenne, pleased with herself after finishing the engraved "TODO LIST". Cayenne struggles to understand.
> Pepper: Can't you see? I decided to rename my bed "TODO LIST"!

Panel 3. Cayenne scratches her head, still struggling to understand.
> Cayenne: But why?...

Panel 4. Pepper gets into bed under the sheets, her eyes wide open as if recalling a traumatic event. At her explanation, Cayenne puts her hand on her face, exasperated by Pepper's logic.
> Pepper: It's simple: every time I try to fall asleep, all the things I have to do come to mind!
