I don't want a smart home. I wish my car were a bit smarter. But I really wish my nasal spray bottle was smart, and would tell me whether, and how many times I've used it today. I do it twice a day, and all the time, and one time is very like another, and thus it's impossible to remember.

It's extremely easy to demand someone end a war, and everyone should be doing it. But one thing about wars is, it's a lot easier to get in them than to get out of them. I don't see how Trump could end the war before the midterms unless he expressly or tacitly surrenders.

Something I see coming almost here is life without a printer. Honestly I use my printer now mostly for return labels. But not Amazon, I just take it to Whole Foods. Not Hoka, show a code to the UPS Store. Still Quince though. Also certain gov forms, when they want to make life difficult.

Does anyone on here have arthritis at the top of the spine/base of the skull such that it cracks like cracking your knuckles, only inside your skull? It's currently driving me crazy, and I think I will oil it up with oil in a syringe that I stick in the top of my spine. That'll work, right?

Thought jumped into my brain this morning: Our dogs don't know what names are, but they know their names (mostly). What does their name mean to a dog? Not a label that means "Me!" More a connection between the sayer of the name and them. A constantly changing connection, but they see it in our eyes.

I have been reading a number of domestic thrillers thanks to @lindaholmes.bsky.social, and they are quite addictive. That's fine as I'm retired. The problem is that as I listen to them as audiobooks, is how often I'm YELLING at my phone, as someone once again makes a terrible choice in life.

Have started the audiobook of Don Winslow's The Janitor, Titus Welliver narr. Our narrator is a guy who just settles cases, mostly sexual harassment where he's minimally representing the grabby men. And I gotta say, I keep waiting for Wiley E. Coyote to show up.

And my verdict on Coyote v Acme is that it gets to the central problem of product liability, that while the product is defective, your client is a dumbass, and what happened was totally his fault. If defendants escape strict liability, god what a world of pain lies ahead.

I want to know who the "very radical" lawyer who still "loves" Dersh is. But also, it's a weird choice of words. Of all my friends, I can't think of one I would describe as loving me to someone I don't know. There's plenty I would say I love them. I might say my ex and I still love each other.

I realized this week that AI has changed search in a way that I don't think will be changed back even if we were to get rid of AI (Which we won't.) Talking to a lawyer who had gone through a long court case and had many days of trial with therefore hundreds or maybe thousands of pages of transcript.
