Narnia has continued the trend of the people I follow being really split on a peice of media that's adaptating a existing story or character. Not always the same split, some will defend a brand new take in one case, then hate it in another. Say it's fine for adaptations to try something new or not.

I wonder why I bother bringing up Finn. Discourse for him in Star Wars never feels constructive (ignoring his growth into a Rebel, or saying *how* it could be better) It’s only ppl screaming “HE HAD NO ARC” or “TROS/JJ BUTCHERED HIM” …At least it’s an improvement over saying “he only shouts ‘Rey’”

their ("hollywood" at large) bet is that ellison is a temporary presence, an individual that will be consumed by industry forces, whereas netflix would've been a structural shift to those forces. i think this is a bad bet as it assumes a politics radical enough to unwind him, directly or indirectly.

Because I can't separate my dislike of Gunn's take on DC, I try not to give opinions on whether or not I think it will succeed overall, though Superman doing just good enough and Supergirl not made it it hard not to say something. But with the new corporate overlord, I'm wondering even more.
