First heard @4hundredblows.bsky.social on @smershpod.com, have since devoured his amazing book and can't wait to see him in Leeds in February. If you can't make a show, would very much recommend checking out the book, such a great, fresh approach to a well-covered topic and a terrific read!

Jim Henson was born on this day in 1936.
Edward Hopper's 'Nighthawks', but the man and woman at the counter of the diner are now Fozzie and Miss Piggy. The guy with his back to us is now Bert, but Bert is being operated by Frank Oz, who is crouched down in front of the counter. The waiter/server is now Jim Henson who is looking intently at Kermit, and Kermit, who is occupying half of Jim's right arm, is looking intently at Jim. The diner is now called "JIMMYS".

Come out for a relaxing early morning coffee outside a little coffee shop. The guy two tables away is constantly belching and sounds like a wounded hippo. It's loud enough to be heard through my headphones and I think I might fucking puke. Anyway, happy Sunday.

100 years ago today at 3pm, Buster Keaton and his team delivered the most expensive shot in silent film history. Inflation adjusted/converted, $42,000 in 1926 is roughly £592,000 today, making the cost of the shot itself around £46,000 per second. #ThursdayMaths #FilmSky
