Swiss Cottage library is 60 years old and I was very excited to be invited along to her birthday party and launch of the new children's library. The children's library has loads of neat accessibility features and even Wurlitzer jukebox that plays audiobooks! Massive well done to the team!
The outside the Swiss Cottage library, which was called a masterpiece of civil engineering when designed by Basil Spence in 1964. It's a large concrete building shaped like a cigar laying on it's side with two rounded ends.A fabric tactile sign at the end of a bookcase. The sign is yellow with black text on it saying "Arts and Recreation".A large central corridor with high ceilings and a long table running along it with a blue table cloth. At the end of the table is a gold banner that reads "Happy 60th Birthday". The table is laden with food and drink.A large fabric toy octopus that sits over 1 meter high. There are lots of different fabrics and textiles covering the toy. My hand is reaching out to touch it.

One thing I'm especially loving as part of #Braille200 is that whenever I'm lucky enough to go to a library in a different part of the country to celebrate we get to create some #BrailleBhajis! We only had enough to spell (capital B) Brl 200 but you get the idea. P.S Everything got eaten.
