I will never forget all the cynical gainsaying and disinformation about the strike on Al-Ahli hospital ten days into Israel’s destruction of Gaza. ‘Fog of war’. Almost three years later, fewer than half of Gaza’s hospitals remain even partially functional and there is no fog. Only dust and rubble.

Malaysia calls it “ihsan” (compassion) and “voluntary return.” In reality, Malaysia handed thousands of names to the Myanmar junta, let the junta pick who it wanted back, and extracted signatures inside detention cells. www.rohingyarefugee.news/p/malaysias-...

Behind the government’s grand talk of "ihsan," refugees are being selected by the junta they fled and handed over in the name of compassion.

it seems like it's ontologically impossible to call an israeli a terrorist, because if you can't call someone who was part of an organized group that snuck explosives in consumer electronics all over a country to detonate in hospitals, doctors' offices, grocery stores, etc..., then what else is he?

This is broadly speaking understandable when you realise that to a certain kind of American liberal, only America actually exists, and the rest of the world is a sort of theoretical argument that is only brought up to distract from the manichaean struggle between Democrats and Republicans.

Always funny when ostensible liberals are like "You see, this postcolonial conflict is actually very nuanced and complex, because what makes it so very unique is that the majority ethnic group doesn't want to share power with the minority ethnic groups." Oh wow, I didn't know that, that's wild man.

If the so-called brotherly states listed below were actually interested in incentivizing these developments and interested in punishing Israel for its settlement enterprise, they would at minimum sever relations with Israel and ideally apply economic pressure onto the West to implement this policy.

Add ToI as a Preferred Source on Google
A group of eight Muslim-majority countries, including Israel’s ally the United Arab Emirates, praise the United Kingdom’s announcement that it will impose sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank and call on other countries to do the same.

Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE put out a joint statement expressing “the hope that this decision will help mobilize the international community to take similar actions in line with international law and hold accountable settlement organizations and individuals engaged in illegal settlement activities.”

The foreign ministers also call for the “full and immediate implementation” of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point postwar plan in Gaza, and call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, an idea Israel rejects.`
