Hey gang. I am loath to post this, but I once again find myself in bleak financial circumstances and could really use some help. If I've ever made you laugh or scream-puke and you can send a few bucks my way, I'd be so grateful. Venmo: @mshippyx Cashapp: $anaximanderx ko-fi.com/mxdshipwreck

💔 Please don’t let Ahmed die alone. His abdomen is still open. He cries in unbearable pain, and there is almost no time left for the surgery he desperately needs. We are terrified this may be our last chance. 🙏 Even $5 could help save him. Please, help Ahmed now. chuffed.org/project/mahm...

Has Chuck Tingle ever written a book where a sentient foodstuff tries to order a drink at a bar and is told “We don’t serve food here”.

Thinking about Dario Agger again. I love this bit from Agger's Marvel wiki page. Imagine if, more than a decade after his debut, Dario suddenly revealed he could turn into a duck.
A cropped screenshot of Dario Agger's page on a Marvel wiki site. (Specifically this one: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Marvel_Database.) There is a heading named "Powers", followed by a bullet point that reads: "Transformation: Agger can shift between a human form and his Minotaur form. He has not revealed if he can transform into other forms."

Luthor is a good answer. But the best answer is Dario Agger.
A panel from “The Immortal Hulk” #27. It’s a close-up of Dario Agger’s face. He’s in his minotaur form. He says “OF ALL THE MANY PRODUCTS WE SELL, THE MOST PROFITABLE AND POWERFUL…IS NARRATIVE.”A cropped panel from “The Mortal Thor” #11. It shows Dario Agger being interviewed on a talk show called “Late Nite with Rick Turk”. Dario is in his minotaur form, but he’s missing most of the flesh on his head.

Elon Musk is flying under the radar in the Texas Senate race. Republicans want to keep it that way.
One Republican involved in the Texas Senate contest called Musk’s in-your-face campaigning in Wisconsin last year “a mistake.”

I’m reading a book about borders from 2012 and this excerpt kind of depressed me. The world turned out very different!
A cropped screenshot from the aforementioned book. I’ve highlighted an excerpt that says this: “Examples of contested boundaries and border-related issues abound but ironically exist today amid a growing sense that borders are diminishing in importance. Greater mobility among general populations within and between various countries and provinces, the development of regional and supranational institutions, and increased cross-border economic activity point to at least partial de-territorialization of human identity, state sovereignty, and national economies. Some even declare the end of geography, meaning that a world of flows is erasing the world of places and will ultimately give rise to a homogenized, borderless landscape.”

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️

All-timer lack of self-awareness in this Linda Harvey retrospective on 9/11:
Cropped screenshot of the opening of Linda Harvey's article "The Day It All Changed: My Escape from DC on 9/11". It reads:

"All was calm, until it wasn’t.

And all because people are taught to hate us. And then they act on that hate.

It was a beautiful mid-September morning when I boarded my flight to Washington Reagan Airport from Columbus. I was attending a quarterly meeting of the National Pro- Family Forum on Homosexuality, formed..."
