if the localization team is able to hit on a really catchy, memorable title then it's fine to use it but imo 9/10 times the actual winner is the abbreviation of the Japanese title, and you can tell this is broadly true by how often localizations will use the JP abbreviation with an English subtitle

I also find it funny with how smart home pundits love to shill AI and stuff and here I am, not a single thing with ChatGPT or any of the AI stuff has been used in my home assistant build. And now my home theater works like a real movie theater (tho it isn't completely automatic)

I know I sound like a shill since smart home stuff is evil (especially with big amazon and big google), but home assistant really does take the evil out of it, and heck, I'm trying to make it useful for my mom who's vision is in decline. I'm also a believer in it helping the disabled.

Only thing I'll say about the japanese or english title when it comes to anime. I use whatever jives with me. Done. Tho I used to be kind of an asshole about it, but mainly because I like the video game SNK (attack on titan would get so mixed in with the SNK stuff back in the day which was a rager)

This was within my lifetime and I’m only 37! Rights are not guaranteed in a country built on the back of bigotry and all of us queers are on a constant knife’s edge. It may be easy to think attacks on furries are silly but this is another canary in the coal mine for a broader attack on queer rights

Maybe some younger folks don’t remember the dark days when homosexuality was classified as a mental illness and used to keep gay people out of work. You could be legally fired for being gay! They want to bring that back and will be testing the waters even more since the “trans scare” worked so well.

Let’s be real they’re using “furry” as a visibly queer subculture as a stand-in for queerness at large. Their goal has been to remove queer people from public life, and they’re testing different vectors to do so. Hence the all caps “MENTALLY ILL,” which is how they want to reclassify all queers
