For the past week, I've heard a lot of people say "provincial and municipal elections happening at the same time is confusing, especially since I don't fully understand what a city is in control of." So, I did a four minute explainer piece to try and help www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqlh...

After another night of receptions and listening to politicians talking to one another a little too loudly, I'm 95% certain that a snap B.C. election is coming, possibly as soon as this weekend. Here's why.

Apologies for the length of this, but I hope it is helpful. I feel strongly that we need to see trustees that will work to improve the state of our schools, act as effective communicators, and understand the importance of the role. 18/ #vancouvermunicipalelection2026

if she would pass on the access to the current exec and remove herself, as she was not an executive at that time was, "I think I stay here for an admin as a bit[.] I'm still a parent same as you." I find this concerning as DPAC communication properties should be, and are expected to by managed 16/

After she stepped down as chair I reached out to her to ask if she would hand over access to the Facebook account. I had previously been the administrator and current exec were asking me if I still had access as they were unable to get information or a response from her. Her response when asked 15/

Historically access to these accounts was shared with the officers of the executive (chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary). This was extremely alarming to me so I reached out to the executive to communicate that, and share what was the practice prior to Melanie acting as chair. 14/

The reason she gave publicly was she hadn't been reimbursed for costs associated with her credit card being on those accounts. I understand her concern about the cost, however I disagree with her approach of removing access to DPAC properties from those who had been elected to the position. 13/

Melanie Cheng - I worked with Melanie for a year. In January 2026 she has stated in a public DPAC meeting when she had been in the role of chair for the past 1.5 years, that she refused to share access to DPAC properties (website administration, Facebook group, Twitter account, etc). 12/

I believe Krista was the exec who spearheaded a platform to allow Vancouver PACs to share information with each other, ask questions, etc. It was a fantastic resource, and she was very helpful in transferring over the administration tasks for that to ensure its continued use to the community 11/

Krista Sigurdson - I known Krista since about 2021 when I started advocating for supports during Covid. She was known as one of the people on DPAC executive who was a great communicator, great at taking on projects/tasks and succeeding in meeting the needs of the community. 10/

This is completely my experience in what I know of their work and the energy they have put into being dedicated education advocates. I hope that sharing this helps other people form decisions on who they want to vote for. 2/

particularly great for removing myself from the drama. :) As well, I really don’t want to get sued. This person is possibly litigious. Anything I say would be factual (I don’t have the time or interest in making up stories) but I may not have the receipts to have proof of 3/4

use terrible judgement when making policy decisions, and then blame everyone else rather than learn and take responsibility. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I feel a responsibility to share this information but I also enjoy not being part of the drama - getting out of DPAC was 2/4

Hey local #Vancouver businesses! Lots of opportunities for locations across from #LangaraCollege. The cafeteria there is pretty expensive for anything healthy and you would get lots of business if you can offer better options than a $16 stirfry. :) Would love to see Onigiriya or sushi! 🙏🏻

Every mammogram should be supported by 3 different AIs for improved detection of cancer, prevention, and risk of heart disease. At no cost to patients. My new @thelancet.com essay reviews the evidence and the lack of implementation thelancet.com/journals/lan...

Mammography should include artificial intelligence support
In the past decade, deep learning has increasingly been applied to medical image interpretation, but without consensus as to whether medical practice should change. Many studies show artificial intelligence (AI) enhanced accuracy beyond the performance of radiologists. The most compelling evidence comes from the follow-up of the Mammography Screening with Artificial Intelligence (MASAI) randomised trial, which assessed the reading of two radiologists compared with one radiologist plus an AI algorithm.
