Sigh. There are no "tells" of AI writing. The "tell" is not really understanding what they're talking about. That's it. And much of the time, especially in short pieces, you can't really discern that, even leaving aside that real human beings also talk about stuff without understanding it.

OK so just for the record, literally every researcher trained by every legitimate academic institution in the history of academia has been trained and required to read every paper they cite to support their research. All of us, every single one. Literature review is the first thing we learn to do.
