When in primary school, a kid from secondary school came along with his electric guitar to play us the Godfather theme. He made quite a few mistakes and swore a lot, and we were told at the end that that kind of language was not appropriate at all.

Selection, constraints, and contingency drive mosaic patterns of evolution during the carangarian adaptive radiation
Adaptive radiations generate remarkable morphological diversity, yet traits often diversify at different rates and modes, producing mosaic patterns of evolution. Modularity, the semiautonomous organization of traits, can shape how selection and ...

World-renowned artist Ai Weiwei hadn’t created a drawing in over 50 years. Moved by the death of Sherwood Forest’s ancient, 1,200-year-old Major Oak, he travelled to see it for himself. And there, he picked up his pencil again. Discover the story behind A Tree: www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happen...

"A physical book is a delivery mechanism for information," it continues.
"Once that information has been extracted and encoded into an Al model, the delivery mechanism has served its purpose. What remains is paper, ink, and binding material. The book is not destroyed. Its value has migrated.
The paper returns to the material cycle; the knowledge enters the intellectual one."

Quick Tip: "Don't speak ill of the dead" means dont demean, or spread lies, or speak malicious untruth about dead people, who cant defend themselves Accurately describing someone's life and legacy is not "speaking ill" It's the truth - which is self justifying in that it is the truth!

WE HAVE AVOCET NEWS!!! An Avocet spotted at RSPB Middleton Lakes has been confirmed as the oldest ever recorded in the UK. At 36 years old, it's lived more than five times longer than the species' average lifespan. First ringed in 1990, it's still out there doing Avocet things. Go on Avocet. 😍
An Avocet strides across the edge of a wetland, one leg lifted mid-step as if caught in an elegant strut. Its striking black-and-white plumage and long upturned bill stand out against a softly blurred backdrop of green reeds.

For 2024, a green bar runs up to 4000, with a dark green running to about 5000. The text "40% lower" is on the lighter green bar. Text at the top of the graphic reads "Estimated air pollution deaths are down by around 40%. New analysis estimates deaths associated with air pollution in London reduced substantially between 2019 and 2024." Text at the bottom of the graphic reads "Note: darker shading shows estimated ranges.
