So a job application I was really enthusiastic about mentioned there would be 2 rounds of interviews. 1 week later I'm told the position is filled. Clearly not enough time to interview 2 rounds of applicants, so either filled internally or just a made up vacancy? This shit is so exhausting.

Playing the WoW Forever beta, and I find myself coming back to the talents and wondering if it's truly possible to build your character 'incorrectly'? Sure you can be non-optimal, but I often wonder just how big the gorge is between the least and most optimal talent builds for a given class.

The only way I've ever made sense of Elves is that they're plants, not mammals. Long sinewy features, ethereal and fae like qualities, incredibly long lived, closely attuned to nature and the natural world. It all feels like it locks into place that, yeah, they're highly evolved plants.

I played vanilla to 60, I loved the early atmosphere, the deep intertwining story of the Defias conspiracy all the way up to Onyxia. I loved questing, I loved running into random people and grouping for big fights, I loved dungeons, and I ran groups through Strat/Schol multiple times a day for gear.

Growing up I was really put off by the deluge of WW2 shooters, and they just. kept. making. them. So I've avoided FPS titles generally for years. The only one that really sticks with me is Hellgate: London, diablo ala FPS? Very cool conceptually. I hear they ruined it though and it's unplayable.

A labour of love, but man it was fun to replay this classic and relive the adventure - not played FFIX since it first came out in 2000, and still as beautiful as I remember. A very sad story but one of the most fun and quintessential FF entries in the series, a capstone for the whole Squaresoft era.

I really loved how these Zachtronics inspired tiles came out, they were for a network sim game, each using a modular design as abstractions of a work space. Then the apps would appear as little virtual hexagonal tiles inside the middle area and you'd click on them to open editor dialogue boxes.

A hexagonal tile in the colour of old desktop tower computer beige, the bottom right face has a dark green name plate with 'A-1000' on it in white stencil lettering and three LED's in green, yellow, and blue. On the bottom left face is an I/O shield with a wifi antenna, four blue USB ports, and an ethernet port along with a three pin power supply plug port and power switch.

The tile has a recess in the centre that's got a 90's teal colour to it with a pink border. Around the inside of the recess there thin green rectangles set into the walls evenly, that look like they could slide out from slots. One of the edges has a set of triangular slots that mimic air vents in classic 90's style.

A hexagonal tile in the colour of old desktop tower computer beige, the bottom left face has a dark green name plate with 'A-2000' on it in white stencil lettering and three LED's in green, yellow, and blue. On the bottom right face is an I/O shield with a four grey USB ports, and an ethernet port along with a three pin power supply plug port and power switch.

The tile has a recess in the centre that's got a 90's teal colour to it with a pink border. The right side inner wall of the hexagon has a single thin green rectangle that looks removable like it could slide out. There are shallow rhomboid recess mimicking 90's PC design decorating the top of the hexagon walls, adding minimal flat detail to break up the space.

Around the inner walls there two thin wide green rectangles that look like they could slide out, the top right face has a single wide thin green rectangle set into the face that also looks removable. I get the sense that most modern mmo's don't feel like old mmo's because they focus entirely on cooperation without meaningful collaboration. I think back to vanilla ragnarok online, where levelling required building a roving gang of players whose collective strength was necessary to beat enemies.
