There’s no reason to try to find the “good side” of the Xbox layoffs. They’re selling 2 studios to ???, 2 more are going indie, all while facing a dire economy and a lack of funding, and they’re just starting to put Arkane through this process. This isn’t generosity, it’s ducking responsibility

It is an extremely necessary, important project to digitize the past, and as we do it, we have to worry about digitizing the present and future. At the same time, that brings about many challenges, esp because digital space is not free nor infinite, even if people often conceptualize it that way

There are thousands of years of human history before the internet was a thing, and we’re constantly trying to digitize new things. People are so surrounded by the digital noise of the modern era where it never clocks just how much work is left to be done!

It’s all a process of figuring out what/how stuff can be digitized and what can be public facing. From there you’re constantly trying to find what’s even stored somewhere and what is just an entire blind spot. All of this goes blind to people because we take for granted how much IS digital now
